Application Process
1. Submit the application form by April 10th, 2022.
2. Book an interview when you receive your sign-up confirmation email.
3. Receive an Email regarding the details of the interview.
4. Have an online interview with a TEDxYouth@Tokyo team leader.
5. Wait for final results via email. (April or May 2022)

Basic requirements
- Must be a secondary/middle or high school student in Greater Tokyo Area in September 2021.
- Must be able to comfortably communicate in English (necessity depends on each team).
- Must be able to attend in-person meetings and meetups in Tokyo.
- Must be able to dedicate time for TEDxYouth@Tokyo’s work and balance it with academics.
- Must be enthusiastic about meeting new people, sharing ideas, and love what TED and TEDx is all about.
Specific skillsets and traits needed on the 2022 team
Speaker Team:
Sponsor Team:
Design + PR Team:
Workshop Team:
Tech Team:
- Fluent in English
- Experienced in public speaking (ex: speech competitions, debate, etc)
- Frequently listens to TED/TEDx Talks
- Enjoys editing essays/speeches
- Good at communication
Sponsor Team:
- Fluent in Japanese (able to send formal emails/speak in formal Japanese,) comfortable with English
- Connections with companies if possible
- Experience in negotiating with companies
- Willingness to put the time and effort into finding sponsors
- Those who are responsible/organized (need to be able to reply to emails quickly)
Design + PR Team:
- Experience with design software (photoshop, procreate, etc)
- Good communication skills - communicating ideas, working well with other members on projects
- Comfortable using social media (Instagram and Twitter)
- Hard working/consistency
- PR on social media requires frequent posting + communication with audiences
- Creativity - finding unconventional designs + ways to promote
Workshop Team:
- Connections to possible companies, organizations or groups who can host the workshops for the event
- High ability to take action, and are able to think outside the box
- Comfortable with English and formal Japanese
Tech Team:
- Those in Year 9/10/11 from April 2022.
- Those with experiences on video editing using a software.
- Those with experiences on photography and cameras.
- Those familiar with lighting, speakers and audio.
